Launch day leaked for Apple's iPhone 16 series — and it could be sooner than last year's announcement

The precise date of Apple's annual iPhone model announcement is still unknown, even though it usually happens in September. Apple may release the iPhone 16 range on September 10, according to the most recent rumors.

Phone Arena noticed a report over the weekend from CNMO Technology News that suggests this. That is supported by the fact that September 10 falls on a Tuesday, which is the day of the week that Apple usually holds their events to reveal the iPhone. Though Apple held its major event on Wednesday instead, the iPhone 14 did buck that pattern back in 2022. It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 Ultra, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available for purchase beginning on September 20.

Nevertheless, we advise you to treat this date with caution for the time being as CNMO has no track record of reliability with these kinds of reports. However, a plethora of reports regarding everything from the iPhone 16's battery capacities to design enhancements have given us some indications as to what to expect from Apple's upcoming phones.

There are seven possible color combinations for the vanilla iPhone 16: black, blue, pink, yellow, green, white, and purple. The color options for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be rose/desert yellow, gray, space black, and white. According to earlier rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro Max would have a 6.9-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro will have a significantly larger 6.3-inch screen. The existing 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes are reportedly what the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will remain at. Unfortunately, it also meant that they could retain the outdated 60Hz refresh rate of the iPhone 15. However, a smaller bezel surrounding the display is said to be included on all variants.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus should run on 3-nanometer A18 chips and inherit the A17 Pro chip that the iPhone 15 Pro models are now using. More potent A18 chip iterations appear to be on the way for the Pro models. The telephoto camera on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may also be enhanced; the former is expected to use a tetraprism telephoto lens that has a 5x zoom capacity.
